The weather has just been amazing this past week here in Loveland. 65 degrees and the bugs are out on the trail! I literally saw some midges flying around as well as some yellow jackets emerging from their earthly holes feeling the spring-like weather. The snow is on its way as I write this post, but I think I speak for every Coloradoan who lives on the Front Range in the winter time---You cannot beat the weather especially when you are blessed with these warm, sunshiney days to get outside in t-shirts, shorts and sandals in January! You are always blessed out here to beat those winter blues and soak up the sun!
Down to Earth is the way to be. Keeps us wholesome, makes us free. Soaring birds in fanciful flight, rustling trees in the dawn of night. Babbling brooks and meandering streams reminds us all to keep it clean. Nature's wonder: the light that gleams, humbles us all ~ life's mystery dream.

Raptors and Morey Wildlife Reserve at Mariana Butte
female American Kestral (females don't have the slate-blue wings that males do) |
kestrals move very quickly---it's hard to capture a shot of these falcons! Here she is soaring down into the brush. |
Redtail |
another Redtail |
Old Man Redtail- check out those colors! |
This Redtail was huge! From a distance and before he opened his wings, I thought it was a Golden Eagle. |
Northern Flicker |

Had a peaceful hour or two to myself Saturday afternoon and hiked along the Morey Wildlife Reserve at Mariana Butte exploring the sights and sounds of winter.
